Last gubernatorial election one candidate won by a couple hundred votes, the other side demanded a recount, nothing changed. They demanded a hand recount and the margin got slimmer, but nothing changed. They went to court to get another hand recount and started "finding" ballots that hadn't been counted because they got "lost" in the basement of the King County courthouse. Eventually the other candidate pulled ahead by just over 100 votes and was declared the "Winner". This year, the same two candidates are running for the same position and the ads have been awful - Who needs soap operas!

The BOE is supposed to be non-partisan , not under the control of any party. You can go to most BOE meetings and not hear children or eduction mentioned once because of blatant party politics .BOE members are Danny O'Brien is the Pennsauken Twp Tax Collector and Assessor and also a Camden Co Democratic Committee person from District 8. Dr Allyson Meloni is the daughter of former Democrat Municipal Chair Honorable Louis Meloni. She has a sister employed high in the Twp government and her brother is in charge of Food Services for the BOE. Matt McDevitt and Dung Nguyen are Camden County Democrat Committee people from Districts 13 and 1. And last, but not least, Bernie Kofoet Pennsauken Twp Supervisor for the Dept of Public Works and President of the M-P Water Commission. Non-partisan ? Independent ?Jack Killion, Mayor, proudly point out that they (the Democrats) can do anything they want. He is right. They are, and have been in charge at the BOE. Their fingerprints are all over the failing school system. So do we reward failure by re-electing the same team ? Not where I come from.A strong Superintendent is needed. That is not likely to happen because the party first members of the BOE want someone who will do what they want. The mention of a forensic audit, due to the departure of the Superintendent and Business Administrator, threw the Democrats at the BOE, and the Township, into shock. We can't have that was overheard.All of that can change this Wednesday April 27th. A change is needed at the BOE. That is not the smell of dead fish coming from the BOE.

It's all about politics, and by extension, doing exactly what the Dems are doing now.Sure, I get that the BOE is a political entity. But at what point does good governance trump politics? We see the partisan politics for what they are, two clubs trying to gain access to the stream of tax dollars and jobs that the BOE and the township represent. When I heard the news about some of these BIG BANKS charging this $5 a month fee I wasn't ralley surprised. I told every one I know that my SBOTL gives interest for using our debit cards! I am constantly being approached by Chase and TCF to open accounts, that they will give me $150 to have an account with them for at least 3 months, with of course a minimum balance etc. I tell them no thank you, my SBOTL makes me very happy. As for an extra $60 in my pocket, that would go toward the $1700 front door we just had installed. We used to bank at 5/3. Since we've lived here in Grayslake, I've seen that bank change names at least 4 times. Too many banks, they are like gas stations, competing for our money. I do not believe we have poor qutliay of education in our district, only poor results. The educators do a fantastic job and I would put the majority of the blame on parental cooperation. I do not identify myself as a Republican, but rather a Conservative first. Conservatism focuses on free market capitalism, personal responsibility, and small government. I honestly don't know what individual decisions are being made by the school board, but if these principals are applied they will bring a better result for the success of our students. The term Global Economy amuses me. It's just the latest silly buzz word to get people to rally around. Countries have been trading goods and services since people were able to travel to do so.

More powerful? Good Grief, Jonathan, the Dems aledray own this town! But do you think Scott got as many votes last fall on Rep votes alone? It wasn't just added Ind/Uni's that did this either. There's a grassroots faction of Dems in this town that have had enough of their party's corruption and unethical behavior. For the life of me I can't explain why they remain registered Democrats, but this one thing I know there's a Tea Party movement brewing in Pennsauken and the good ole boys are going down. Jennie took the most wonderful pitrecus of my kids. It was the first time for a picture of all 3 of them together and my 3 year old was not very cooperative. I was so afraid that the pics would be really good of the older 2 but not so good of Harper due to her being whiney and fussy. When we got the proofs I was stunned, you would have never known that Harper was not a happy camper for the shoot. I loved them all and had a tough time with my ordering because they were all perfect. I felt like my kids personalities were captured perfectly!
